Sydney’s Leading Kitchen Tiler for Quality, Affordable Results
Have you been looking for someone to sort out your kitchen tiles? I am a local tiler working across Sydney for the past 25 years. I handle all sorts of kitchen tiling jobs – from small splashbacks to complete kitchen floors and walls.
What I Do
Most of my kitchen tiling work involves:
* Kitchen splashbacks – protecting your walls from cooking splashes
* Floor tiling – durable options that can handle spills and heavy foot traffic
* Feature walls – adding some character to your kitchen
* Fixing dodgy tiling from previous jobsEvery kitchen’s different, and I’ve worked in all types across Sydney – tiny apartment kitchens in Surry Hills, older homes in the Inner West, and modern builds out west. Whatever your kitchen looks like, I can help sort the tiling.
Why Kitchen Tiles Make Sense
Kitchen tiles aren’t just about looks. They’re practical too:
They’re easy to clean – just wipe them down when something spills
They don’t get damaged by water like other materials
They handle heat well (important near cooktops)
They last for years without needing replacement
I’ve seen too many kitchens with damaged walls or warped floors because people used the wrong materials. Tiles are made for wet areas like kitchens.
Splashbacks - Most Common Job
About half the kitchen jobs I do are splashbacks. Makes sense – the area behind your sink and cooktop takes a beating from water, oil and food splashes.
A few things I’ve noticed about splashbacks over the years:
* Subway tiles are still really popular and look good in most kitchens
* Mosaic tiles can look fantastic but take longer to install (more labour cost)
* Larger format tiles mean fewer grout lines to clean
* Porcelain or ceramic is usually better than natural stone for areas near cooktops
I’m happy to talk through options when I see your space. What works in one kitchen doesn’t always work in another.
Floor Tiling
Kitchen floors cop a lot of abuse – dropped pots, spilt food, constant foot traffic. You need something tough.
When I’m doing kitchen floor tiling, I make sure to:
* Use the right underlay so your tiles don’t crack
* Make sure the surface is completely level before starting
* Properly waterproof around sinks and dishwashers
* Use floor-specific tiles that aren’t slippery when wet
I’ve fixed too many DIY kitchen floor jobs where people used wall tiles on the floor (they crack) or didn’t prepare the surface properly.

My Approach to Kitchen Tiling
I keep things simple:
1. I’ll come see your kitchen and measure up
2. We’ll talk about what you want and what might work best
3. I’ll give you a written quote that covers everything
4. If you’re happy, we book in the job
5. I turn up when I say I will and get it done
I don’t do the hard sell, and I won’t try to upsell you on stuff you don’t need. If a simple option will work well, I’ll tell you that.

Pricing - What Does Kitchen Tiling Cost?
Everyone always wants to know about cost straight away, which makes sense. Kitchen tiling in Sydney typically ranges:
* Basic splashback (about 3m²): $600-$1200
* Standard kitchen floor (about 15m²): $1800-$3000
* Complete kitchen tiling (floors and walls): $3000-$6000
These are rough guides – it really depends on:
* Size of your kitchen
* Condition of existing surfaces
* Types of tiles you choose
* Any tricky bits like lots of power points or odd shapes
I charge for the actual work involved rather than using a one-price-fits-all approach. Some kitchens are straightforward, others need more prep work.
Materials - What Tiles Work Best?
I don’t sell tiles, but I’m happy to recommend what works well based on your kitchen:
* Porcelain is tough and water-resistant – good for most kitchens
* Ceramic is a bit cheaper but still does the job well
* Glass tiles can look amazing for splashbacks but cost more
* Natural stone needs more maintenance in kitchens
If you’ve already bought tiles, I can work with those. If not, I can point you towards suppliers with good options at different price points.
Why People Call Me Back
I’ve been working in Sydney for 25 years now, and most of my work comes from repeat customers or referrals. I think that’s because:
* I turn up when I say I will
* I’m clean and tidy – I don’t leave a mess
* My work lasts – I don’t take shortcuts
* I’m straightforward about what things cost
* I treat people’s homes with respect
Nothing fancy, just reliable work at a fair price.
